great toy, with a drawback. First, I think it is important to note that I’ve only had this issue so that not a week. I will most likely add to my review after some time has passed.

My initial impression, but it is a good idea. I bought this for my son 10 months old, so I would have a fun toy to get up and play. The keyboard is of high quality, and three others play buttons on top are fun for him too.

The only drawback is that an interactive toy that connects to the TV is now useless to us. The software is too slow, so there is a delay that now makes it very difficult for my son to understand that there is no cause and effect occurs. That however much prefer any of the other two keyboard modes, so you can hear sounds when you hit the keys.

Perhaps as it grows we will find that the interactive toy becomes useful, but for now we will just enjoy making sweet music on the keyboard itself.

It is important to know that babies are individuals. They may have slightly different feeding patterns, or yours may have a bigger appetite than others! Newborns can cluster feed in the evenings. Feeding all night for the first few weeks doesn’t mean they’ve got night and day mixed up and is actually not to bad a situation, because night is when levels of hormones are higher and it helps get breastfeeding established. Also, wear a sleeping bra, but make sure it isn’t too tight or you could end up with mastitis.

One of the main initial problems women encounter when breastfeeding is ‘latching on’. There are many sources of advice on this, not least your midwife, and it is wise to establish that the baby is latched on properly and is getting milk before you leave the hospital. Then comes the issue of feeding in public. After all, baby does not know when you are meeting a friend for coffee or sat in the doctor’s waiting room waiting for a check up. This can be another substantial source of anxiety and another reason why mums choose to stop early on.

It is virtually impossible to organize your life around feeding times and therefore it is best to be more relaxed about it and just be prepared.  There are many products available that can assist mums (and their babies) to gain confidence in the early days of breastfeeding in public. Advice comes from all directions when you are a new mum, and much of it seems contradictory.  It can be a great strain when you are worried about doing the right thing.  Probably the best advice is to listen but in the end, judge what seems to be right for your baby.

“They will be illegal in 2011, but meanwhile I ask you to be withdrawn from the market in the interest of public health and the health of children exposed to them.”

The EU-wide ban on the mats is expected within the next few years.

In November, the EU bans the sale of plastic baby bottles containing bisphenol A, a compound that the evidence suggests that adversely affect the health of babies.

Rejected two months old swing! We purchased this swing after seeing Harvey Karp “happiest baby on the block” DVD (which is awesome). He did not accept this oscillation, only recommends changes in general. We bought this swing because it is small and portable. To our dismay the settings in the swing were not fast enough. Even at the highest value of the swing barely moved. Our son only weighed 11 pounds at the time, so it’s not a matter of weight. It is also very strong and he responded negatively to the vibration. The swing is gathering dust in the baby’s room. The advantage is that it is compact and lightweight.

A note of caution: assembling the body swing, it is easy to tighten the screws. In an attempt to ensure that the seat is safely met, I completely screw presses a background of safety interlocking pieces of plastic.
